How much would you have to bribe someone to get a couples of nights off yourself at some point?

Once Scott and Emma are back, I could probably pull it off. I mean, I'm always the responsible kid brother... I think Scotty could afford to give me a few days off. Why? Did you have something in mind?

There I was thinking you were the older brother. Just kidding :P I don't know, maybe it could be a good way to spend a bit of time together.

LOL! Nope. I'm way cooler, but younger. :P Kidding, I don't think a masters and doctorate work in geophysics are exactly prime things to have to be one of the cool kids. LOL. But that sounds awesome, actually. I really do want to spend more time with you. Is it weird that when I'm with you I feel more normal than I ever have?

Well, I think it's pretty damn cool. Nerds United! Yeah, it's probably weird, but what of us isn't classed as weird? I mean, I did used to be a really, really average sort of guy. I've physically changed, but I'm still me.

This is why I like you so much, you know. You make me feel like my nerdiness is actually cool. :P But seriously, I like you a lot, just how you are. You're incredibly sweet, and apparently a kickass cuddler if recent experiences are anything to judge by. I just... I like that we can talk and stuff and I don't feel like an epic weirdo.

Your nerdiness is cool. It's way cooler than mine LOL. Well, you know, honestly, I really love having someone to share this whole metahuman thing with. People in the lab have been great, but they don't know what it's like directly. I think I can be a fan of this dating thing.

I'm glad to share it with you. It helps a lot when you have a good support group around you... People who care and want to help you find your feet with things. It goes a long way. I think I could be a fan myself. Probably more so when we can do that snuggling thing again. That was really nice.

I remember meeting your friends, I just don't remember their real names. If I've got no epic disasters that crop up tonight, I can drop over.

I promise, they're even cool when they're sober. LOL. They liked you, too. Really? That would be awesome! I love that you can be anywhere in the world, but be beside me whenever you can and want to. That's awesome.

I don't think so. I think you're amazing, no matter your level of sobriety. They did. We all support each other a lot, and they like that you're there and you make me happy and you're really nice... You're not one of those guys who thinks you're too cool to be friends with anyone. So are you. I really like you, you know. Like... a lot.

I don't think anyone has ever called me amazing before. I think I had a good time. In fact, from the look of my neck? I had a very good time. It made me realise I don't have enough friends. Just one really good one, and I guess Green Arrow is kind of like an ally more than anything else. I knew him before any of this happened to me, though. I really like you too. A lot.

To be honest, I was scared dating was well off my radar, but then you just... were here, and you made it seem like such a simple concept to me... And totally worth it.

Oh, I don't know about that. Yep, and they totally didn't by my curling iron story. My closet is basically all plaid. It's pretty bad. Maybe it's a good thing I'm a bit of an average simple dude then, in that case.

I do. I know it's like.... really early, and we've only just met and started dating and stuff, but I really am happy to have you as a part of my life. Oh, dear. I'm sorry about that. Apparently drunk me is a love-biter? It's cool, because the only nice clothes I have are because of Emma. I like simple things. Our lives are complicated enough by what we are. They shouldn't be more complicated by virtue of who we choose to be with. At least not anymore complicated than things are just because of relationships and stuff.

I've been told I'm not so innocent drunk myself. It never used to take much to get me drunk. Which one is Emma again? We both do dangerous things, and we can both get killed. I guess that takes an adjustment period too. Have you ever been really hurt doing what you do?

You're not... The marks I found on me weren't on my neck. :P It's true, though. Emma's my brother's girlfriend. She's awesome, but she says we all dress like basic bitches. LOL. That's true. It's a heavy thing to know and carry with you. No, not seriously. I mean, I've been beaten up and roughed up and shit, but not at death's door.

That is probably the first time I've actually relaxed and just had fun in a very long time, as pathetic as that is to admit. Oh hell, she's going to hate me. I've already broken bones, but I seem to have an increased rate of healing too. But then, I went in like a bull at a gate. A very big bull at a very big gate. I'm not superhero, I'm just an ordinary guy with these powers I want to use to help people if I can.

I'm glad I got to be a part of it. :) She'll get over it, because she's actually a really cool person even if she's fashion conscious. She can't judge, though. She worked in lingerie for years. That increased healing thing is handy. That's what being a superhero is, babe. It's not about thinking you're better than other people or going around throwing your powers around when they aren't needed just to show how awesome you are. It's about being a normal person inside, but with the extraordinary ability to do things that help other people, and choosing to use them for that instead of for your own gain.

At least if I did anything too nerdy or embarrassing, you don't remember it. Bonus dating points. It feels really weird. I did think I might be dying with the dizzying spells, though. Fainting is not cool. It was like "HOLD UP, COMING TO SAVE YOU - NO, WAIT, IMMA JUST FACEPLANT THE SIDEWALK INSTEAD". But that's the thing, have I ever been normal?

I remember having a great time with you and waking up next to you naked, so I think we have a pretty good record of all the awesome and we didn't have any fails committed to memory. Well, normal in the sense of you're a nice guy with a regular job who has extra powers that give you the ability to do extraordinary things. But definitely with a different background than most. You're great at what you do, and the fact that you help people is huge in itself.

The hangover wasn't so much on the awesome. Got over it way quicker than I usually do, though. I'm liking these fringe benefits of being a metahuman. Do you burn out? Doing this all the time, I mean.

That's always a plus at least. Some mutants have the ability to heal more quickly than others, which is really cool. You mean helping other people all the time, and having that be what my life's about. Yeah, I do. Absolutely I do. I think it's normal to do that.

I'm just not sure if it will help me if I'm really close to death. I guess if that happens, I won't be in any condition to really care about it, though. Sort of... I meant more physically burn out. That some days, it's just exhausting to always be saving people. My life wasn't about a hell of a lot before as it was.
